Book Week
Date: August
Book Week is one of the most exciting times on our school calendar, a celebration that brings the magic of reading to life for every student. Each year, children, families, and teachers come together to share their love of books, stories, and imagination. The week is filled with opportunities to explore new authors, discover different genres, and highlight the power of storytelling in shaping our ideas and understanding of the world. Students are encouraged to immerse themselves in reading activities, creative projects, and, of course, our much-loved Book Week Parade, where costumes inspired by favourite characters fill the school with colour and excitement. Book Week reminds us that reading is not just about learning—it is about sparking curiosity, building empathy, and opening doors to endless possibilities. It is a chance for our school community to celebrate literacy and the joy of reading together.

Open day
Date: November, 4 2025
Time: 9.20-11.20 am
Frederickton Public School is excited to invite all new Kindergarten families, to our Teddy Bears’ Picnic Open Day. Bring along your favourite teddy and join us for a day of fun, learning, and community spirit. Visitors will have the chance to step into our classrooms, see the amazing work our students are achieving, and enjoy a picnic atmosphere filled with colour, creativity, and laughter. Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic theme makes this Open Day extra special, with opportunities for children and families to join in activities, share a picnic together, and celebrate the joy of learning in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It’s also a wonderful chance to meet our dedicated staff, explore our programs, and see firsthand why Frederickton Public School is a place where every child is supported to learn, grow, and succeed. Don’t forget to pack your picnic rug and your teddy!
