Term 2 message

To Our Wonderful Parents and Carers who overnight  had to become homeschool parents in Term 1 2020, and to all our Heroic Parents and Carers who are essential workers during this uncertain time,

Thank you for your incredible support of our school. Thank you for the effort that you are putting in to support your children with the learning activities that we have been sending home. Thank you for engaging with our teachers via the phone and internet as they seek to support your child with their learning and sense of connectedness. Thank you for your positive messages of support to us and the photos and videos you have sent in, as we really do miss all of our students.

The NSW Department of Education and all of the staff at Frederickton Public School have student’s health and wellbeing as our first priority and these unprecedented times are challenging for our whole community.

The NSW Government has taken significant steps to increase restrictions across the State in a bid to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. These steps involve measures for Education.

The Premier announced from Tuesday 23 March parents are strongly encouraged to keep their children at home. We ask all parents who are able to care for their children at home to please do so. This will also help support the implementation of social distancing measures within our school settings. This request from the Premier continues as we begin Term 2 and students should remain home if possible.

Schools are classified as essential services and as such will remain open to provide the service to our community. Our doors remain open and no child will be turned away, unless of course if they are sick. For the students who continue to attend school, variations to normal routines and structures will occur. These students commence Term 2 on Tuesday 28 April 2020.

During Term 2, our school will continue to provide learning materials to students as they are learning from home. This will continue to be a mixture of online learning and paper based learning packs. We hope that the resources we have already sent sent home will be useful, however if there is any equipment that you require to help support your child while learning from home, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

During Term 2, our staff will continue to make contact with you and your child/children on a regular basis to discuss their learning and check in. We understand that these are challenging times and our aim as always is to put student wellbeing first. Please keep your contact details up to date with the school to support our positive partnership with you as a valued family.

We will continue to provide you with regular updates as decisions are made regarding the operating status of our school.

We wish all our families a safe and happy Easter holiday break. Take some time to rest and enjoy some family time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all try together to support our communities through this unprecedented health situation.

Kindest Regards

Debbie Bradshaw

Principal
